FARM NEWS! We are excited about the potential of alpaca farming in our area. Initially we allowed our herd to grow (compound) for awhile and then decided it was time to start selling some which we did. In just a little over 3 years we had our initial herd investment back plus we still had a decent little herd. In January of 2008 we purchased 14 more alpacas out of some well known champion stock. Even though the economy has been a little bleak this year people are still investing in alpacas as is evidenced by the sales we have made this year (2008).

When I first saw a commercial for alpacas I thought “wow how beautiful they are”!   Then a couple of months later I saw the commercial again. I started checking into alpacas and then I found out how much they sell for, talk about sticker shock, I still could not get them off my mind.  I got to thinking that if I went ahead and bought a few then I could sell the offspring and get my investment back. So in June 2004 Alabama Peanuts and Pacas was born.

When we first started telling people we were going to start breeding and raising alpacas their comments were "what's an alpaca" or "oh wow, we've seen them on tv". We are excited that we have had the opportunity to get into this rewarding business. Our goal is to raise and sell quality alpacas at reasonable prices and to help our clients in any way we can.

All our alpacas get a lot of TLC. We interact with them on a daily basis making sure we do the best possible job raising them. As a result our alpacas are very healthy and very people oriented. We like alpacas we can get our hands on and so will you.
